Faculty of Forestry UGM, 28th March 2019 – Organization is one of place that provides many facilities to develop various skills of their members. Beside that,  organization can also  be used as a place to exchange aspirations and information. Activities in organization can be used as a warm-up before they start their professional career. If in the work place they have certain regulations, organization also have its own regulations. International Forestry Students’ Association Local Committee Universitas Gadjah Mada (IFSA LC UGM) recently conducted a socialization of its regulations, named “Class of IFSA: Systematic Regulation”. This project was held on Thursday, 28th March 2019 at Faculty of Forestry Universitas Gadjah Mada. There were 4 speakers in this event.

PRESS RELEASE I-SQUARE 2019

IFSA LC UGM has held IFSA Initiation (I2) or commonly known as I-SQUARE. This year, I-SQUARE took a theme “The 1st Chapter of A Memorable Story” with a hope that our members can improve their skills such as making documents, be a master of ceremony, and enrich broaden knowledge about international forestry. I-SQUARE 2019 was held in two phases. The first phase called Pre I-SQUARE was held at Balairung Universitas Gadjah Mada on 5th March 2019. The second phase  was held at Wisma Kepodang, Kaliurang on 6th – 7th March  2019.

Press Release: 2nd Wall Magazine “IFSA LC UGM in The 3rd Asia-Pacific Rainforest Summit: Youth Representative in Combating Climate Change and Environmental Issues”

The 3rd Asia-Pacific Rainforest Summit (APRS) “Protecting Forests and People, Supporting Economic Growth”

APRS is part of the Asia-Pacific Rainforest Partnership (APRP), which supports the implementation of the Paris Climate Change Agreement and encourages the reduction of greenhouse gas emissions from deforestation and forest degradation in the region. This year, APRS was held in Yogyakarta, Indonesia on 23rd until 25th April 2018 with the theme “Protecting forests and people, supporting economic growth”. The 3rd Asia-Pacific Rainforest Summit (APRS) comes after the landmark global agreements reached in 2015 through the Paris Climate Change Agreement and the United Nation’s Sustainable Development Goals (cifor.org).

The 3rd APRS have seven subthemes which form a starting point for the selection of discussion topics. The seven subthemes consist of:

  • Forests in Nationally Determined Contributions (NDCs)
  • Restoration and Sustainable Management of Peatlands
  • Forest Finance, Investment and Trade
  • Production Forests
  • Community Forestry
  • Ecotourism and Conservation of Biodiversity
  • Mangroves and Blue Carbon
