LAUNCHING NEW PRESIDENCY OF IFSA LC UGM 2019

Hello, IFSA folks!
We proudly present our newest Presidency of IFSA LC UGM for 2019! Now we will start our next chapter titled “Inclusive Space for Youth Combating Climate Change”. Wish us have good luck and great works for this year!

The Direction

Directions of IFSA LC UGM consist of President, Vice President, Secretary, and Treasurer. The main task of directions is to become the representative of IFSA LC UGM to external affairs and in charge of leading the members to carry out the vision and misson of IFSA LC UGM.

Human Resource Development Commission

Human Resources Development (HRD) Commission is a commission with the main duty to provide various trainings in order to develop soft skill and hard skill of IFSA LC UGM members (sports meeting, paper and presentation workshop, etc). This commission is also in charge of keeping a strong bond between each member of IFSA LC UGM.

Media and Communication Commission

Media and Communication (MedCo) Commission is a comission who’s in charge of all publication regarding the newest updates about project or any activities of IFSA LC UGM through online (social media) as well as offline publication (wall magazine).

Language Commission

Language Commission of IFSA LC UGM is a place which facilitate all the members to increase their English skill and capabilities, also to build the member’s experience in increasing their softskill regarding how to speak in public as well as deliver their opinion and ideas to a bigger forum.

Forestry Education Commission

Forestry Education Commission (FenC) is a place for members of IFSA LC UGM to broaden their knowledge regarding forestry issues in a local as well as global scale. Commissioners of FenC are one step ahead and expected to always be aware and stay up to date about forestry issues and disseminates them to rest of IFSA LC UGM members through their projects (Focus Group Discussion, English Group Discussion, etc).

PRESS RELEASE I-SQUARE 2019

IFSA LC UGM has held IFSA Initiation (I2) or commonly known as I-SQUARE. This year, I-SQUARE took a theme “The 1st Chapter of A Memorable Story” with a hope that our members can improve their skills such as making documents, be a master of ceremony, and enrich broaden knowledge about international forestry. I-SQUARE 2019 was held in two phases. The first phase called Pre I-SQUARE was held at Balairung Universitas Gadjah Mada on 5th March 2019. The second phase  was held at Wisma Kepodang, Kaliurang on 6th – 7th March  2019.

PRESS RELEASE OF THE 48TH MID-INTERSESSIONAL MEETING OF SUBSIDIARY BODIES OF UNFCCC

Greetings, everyone!

We would like to share our experiences during the 48th Mid-intersessional Meeting of Subsidiary Bodies of United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC SB 48.2) which was held on 4th – 9th September 2018 in Bangkok, Thailand. This particular event facilitated the meeting of Subsidiary Bodies for Sciencetific and Technological Advice (SBSTA), Subsidiary Bodies for Implementation (SBI), and the Ad Hoc Working Group on the Paris Agreement (APA). SBSTA and SBI work together to address issues related to the vulnerability of developing countries against climate change and prevention actions done by developed countries. SBSTA and SBI generally hold two meetings in a year.

YOUNGO Preparatory Session

On September 3rd 2018, IFSA delegates attended the YOUNGO preparatory session. This session was held by YOUNGO to prepare youth participation during the UNFCCC SB 48.2. YOUNGO is a constituency representing youth and children in the UNFCCC session. delegates who are members of YOUNGO must attend this session to get basic knowledges about the UNFCCC session, which includes the birth history of UNFCCC, working bodies within the UNFCCC as well as the latest developments of several international agreements resulted from the UNFCCC session (Kyoto Protocol and Paris Agreement). In addition, the youth delegates present were also given an explanation regarding YOUNGO’s role as representatives of youth and children within the UNFCCC. In the middle of the session, the delegation from IFSA had the opportunity to get acquainted with several delegates from Gambia, Malaysian Youth Delegation (MYD), and the British Columbian Council for International Cooperation (BCCIC).
